Apparel Group Unites with Red Crescent Organisations in GCC to Support Earthquake Victims in Syria and Turkey

Apparel Group, a leading retail conglomerate in the Middle East and a UN Global Compact organisation member, has partnered with Red Crescent Societies in Bahrain, UAE, and Qatar to support the victims of the recent earthquake in Syria and Turkey. 

As part of its relief efforts, Apparel Group has donated thousands of clothes, footwear, food, and hygiene products to the affected communities in Syria and Turkey. The donations were made in collaboration with the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), demonstrating the group’s commitment to being a responsible community partner. 

Apparel Group, in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent, provided relief efforts for the recent earthquake, donating 94 large boxes of food and hygiene products and over 44,000 units of clothing and footwear, with a total retail value of $789,624. Dedicated employees volunteered their time, spending 107.5 hours sorting and packaging the donations for shipment. In Bahrain, the group donated 4,500 clothes and footwear worth $30,000 to the earthquake victims in Syria and Turkey. Additionally, Apparel Group collaborated with the Qatar Red Crescent 

Society, donating 100-plus boxes of goods and apparel provided by employees and great brands in Qatar as part of its regional efforts to support the earthquake victims. The Secretary-General of Bahrain Red Crescent Society expressed gratitude to Apparel Group for its commitment to social responsibility and helping those affected by natural disasters

The UN Global Compact is a voluntary initiative encouraging organisations to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies and practices. By joining the UN Global Compact, Apparel Group has committed to implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and supporting vulnerable communities in the region.
